Our Inspiration
We are inspired by the early religious union societies of New England and Harvard, the contemplative and inclusive silence of Quaker worship, and the tireless pursuit of peace and justice exemplified by movements such as Pax Christi and the Catholic Worker. We also find wisdom in a wide range of progressive and positive religious and spiritual traditions from around the world—those that value compassion, equality, social responsibility, and the inherent dignity of every person. Our community seeks to embody these values through inclusive worship, education, service, and advocacy. We are intentionally organized and legally incorporated as a church, operating solely for religious, educational, scientific, and charitable purposes. In all that we do, we remain in full compliance with the requirements of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is to serve the public good by creating a spiritually grounded, socially conscious, and welcoming space for all who share in these values.
How You Can Help Us
We are committed to building bridges of understanding and mutual respect across diverse faiths and philosophies. Some of our members participate in the daily silent online gatherings hosted by the Ben Lomond Quaker Center each morning at 7:30 AM Pacific Time (9:30 AM Central Time), finding spiritual nourishment and connection in shared silence. You can support our work by donating through CashApp using the tag $religiousunion. Every dollar is deeply appreciated. Your CashApp dashboard will maintain a record of your donation, which you can use for tax deduction purposes. We are in urgent need of real estate donations—properties that could serve as our main office, as well as sites for retreat centers, camps, shelters, or similar uses. We also seek donations of single-family and multi-family homes to support our mission of providing affordable housing. Additionally, we welcome properties with income-generating potential and small businesses that can offer employment opportunities. Auto donations also needed.
